Video Recording

Laura Drake, formerly a director at the United Association for Studies and Research and Professor of Middle East Politics at American University, spoke at a December 2002 convention sponsored by the Muslim American Society (MAS) and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA). The UASR was founded by Hamas political leader Mousa Abu Marzook.

Transcript:

Laura Drake: So now the occupiers are whining to the US that they are being hit back, that they are getting burned once in a while, that the settlers are being set aflame. Let them burn, I say let them burn. The Palestinian people have a right to resist this evil by any means necessary. The principle of Zionism, of dispossession and replacement of indigenous peoples by force is an evil that threatens the peace and security of the entire world. No, Israel is not only the enemy of the Arabs and Muslims. Israel is the enemy of freedom itself, the enemy of peace and good will, the enemy of logic, the enemy of all that is good and decent in this world.
