Of course it is shameful that our administration is giving aid and comfort to our Islamic enemies, especially, the Muslim Brotherhood and its derivative organizations like CAIR. However, the "Muslim Reform Movement" is not a movement at all. Their Declaration was signed by 13 people, none of whom are Islamic scholars. Their Declaration is nothing more than wishful thinking because they reject several fundamental principles of Islam such as union of religion and state, total loyalty to the Ummah, the sacred and mandatory nature of Sharia law, and the eternal jihad war against non-Moslems. It is great that they reject these fundamental principles of Islam, but because they reject these fundamental principles of Islam, they have no support in the Islamic religious community. In a Moslem country, they would likely be executed as apostates. By its nature, Islam cannot be reformed, and all talk of reform is just idle talk which confuses ignorant non-Moslems to believe that reform is possible when it is not. These would-be "reformers" have absolutely no plan for reform, just empty wishes. There is no way to empower them because their position is logically untenable. They may be good people, but they are fighting a losing battle between their faith and their conscience. If they want their conscience to win, they will have to give up their Moslem identity completely because their Western values are in total contradiction to Islamic values. They do not deserve our attention as much as they deserve our pity.
