In 2004, the president of the United Muslim Mosque, Majeed Sharif, told the Associated Press that he had been an active fundraiser for the Islamic Africa Relief Agency (IARA) in the past, later designated as a terrorism supporter by the Bush Administration. [1] Sharif made the statement to the press a day after his home was raided by the FBI under suspicion that he was directly contributing to raising funds for terrorist activities against the U.S.[2] Sharif was not charged.
