US v. Ullah, Akayed
New York, NY

[SDNY] Ullah, an immigrant from Bangladesh, is charged with five counts, including using a weapon of mass destruction, bombing a public place and attempting to provide material support or resources to ISIS in connection with the failed December 2017 suicide bombing at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. He told investigators he carried out the attack "in part because of the United States Government's policies in, among other places, the Middle East." Ullah was sentenced in April 2021 to life in prison for detonating a bomb in a New York City subway station.
