Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP) Rally
Brooklyn, NY
Jamaat-i-Islami; Muslim Brotherhood; Hamas
The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) is an Islamist organization and Muslim Brotherhood front group that is composed primarily of Muslim supporters of South Asian descent. It is allied with the Jamaat-i-Islami, a historically extremist movement operating for decades in Pakistan and Bangladesh.[1] On May24, 1998, ICNA co-sponsored a rally organized by the Hamas-tied Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP) at Brooklyn College in New York.[2] The event featured Egyptian cleric, Wagdy Ghoneim who told the audience: He who equips a warrior of jihad is like one who makes jihad himself." Ghoneim also led the gathering in a song with the lyrics: "No to the Jews, descendents of the apes."[3]
