Jamaat ul-Fuqra member James Williams was sentenced in March 2001 to 69 years with the murder of Arizona Muslim cleric Rashad Khalifa in January 1990 at the Masjid of Tucson where Khalifa worked. Williams was the leader of a local cell of ul-Fuqra, a group that has been investigated for terrorist acts in New York, Detroit, Philadelphia, Toronto, Denver, and Tucson, according to Colorado's attorney general.
