Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)

On Dec. 2, 2015, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, a married couple, engaged in a shooting rampage at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California. Fourteen people were killed in the attack. Malik reportedly made a bayat, or pledge of allegiance, to the Islamic State of Syria and the Levant (ISIL) and its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on her Facebook page.
