USA v. Boughader-Mucharrafille, Salim

[SDCA] Salim Boughader-Mucharrafille was indicted in November 2002 on multiple counts of human smuggling. Boughader-Mucharrafille reportedly pled guilty to two counts of human trafficking in March 2003 and served most of a year-long prison term. He was rearrested in Mexico immediately following his release and sentenced in May 2006 to 14 years in prison for his role in the smuggling ring and on organized crime charges. According to press reports, Boughader-Mucharrafille admitted that one of the individuals he helped smuggle into the United States worked for al Minar, Hezbollah's television station.
