There is no reason to ban pigs anywhere. If people do not want to eat them then it is up to them not to eat them And the pig itself is a smart and worthy animal. But these people have no right to foist their beliefs on the majority. Note Jews do not complain. The Moslems complained because they are aiming at dominating the world, and substituting their values for yours is a way of dominating you and preparing you to be taken over.

But I wonder if if the Press and the Bank are aiming at courting Moslem money, saying they don't want to offend as a smokescreen.

Next these moslems will demand blasphemy laws, Shariah Courts, and no go zones and will start raping your non-Muslim girls. Better wise up!
