While I agree with your comment to suggest we become energy independent they will not be eating sand anytime soon. The growing energy demands in India and China will ensure the flow of cash to the Middle-East for a long time. The result of our no longer buying Middle-East oil will be the end of the U.S. dollar as the petro dollar which has propped up it's value artificially. But I still suggest it's time we stood on our own two feet when it comes to energy.
