Reader comment on item: Saudi Sheik: Muslim Women Could Face Death For Marrying Non-Muslims

This does not surprise me in anyway. The penalty for leaving Islam is death. The death penalty has been enforced for centuries. Toss in the dominance of men over women within this culture. The penalty for a woman convicted of adultry is Stoning to death. And this 'law' is also enforced. The riots in Nigeria in the summer of '06' were a direct result of the court refusing to enforce this Islamic law.

Islam has some major problems that need to be worked out. NOW. Killing people through these 'laws' and the warfare that constantly result from enforcement or non-enforcement needs to end. History has shown that ending this will not be possible through peaceful means.
