Mathew,"He does not represent most Muslims....Alot of my friends are Muslims and they are the nicest people I know...." That is what you think. If they are true/real Muslims then they CAN'T be your friends according to their Quran Sura 3:28 " Let believers NOT make friends with infidels in preference to the faithful,he that does this has NO connections with Allah unless you guard yourselves against them.Allah admonishes you to fear Him for to Him you shall all return" A Muslim can be a very friendly,but his/her motives are all hide/deceptive. Muslims have a word for that,".Al-Taqiyya".= deception,lie. Vast majority of non muslim Americans are naive about Islam. And don't fall for when Muslims say 'Islam means peace,it doesn't ,it means "Surrender to the will of Allah"
