Thank you for pointing out the vapid nature of Couric's remarks. Thank you also for providing a "fact check" service concerning her observations on hate crimes. Here in Michigan, which has a large population of folks from the Middle East, hate crime is rarely reported to occur. When it does occur, any number of groups are targeted as often as Muslims. Is Couric actually of sufficient "gravitas" (to use a term many in the media once loved) to be foisted into the living rooms of so many Americans who may happen onto her network newscast?
